Hey Lobo Nation!
After missing the entire 2020-21 season, the University of New Mexico Spirit Program is back and ready to represent the University of New Mexico on the national stage at the 2022 UCA/UDA Collegiate Cheerleading and Dance National Championships! The All Girl Cheer, Coed Cheer and Lobo Dance teams have been working hard all season long and your support for their journey to the National Championships can help the Lobos get there. This will be the first time since 2018-19 that all three teams that make up the Spirit Program will be competing and we could not be more excited about it.
These student-athletes have been preparing since June for their opportunity to represent the Cherry and Silver at nationals in January. Through COVID restrictions, coming off of a season without practicing or competing, and facing many other challenges these teams have persevered and now we are looking at YOU to help us make the final push to compete in Florida!
To help the Spirit program get to nationals, we need your help to raise another $30,000. This will help pay for expenses such as travel, food and competition fees.
The Mission of the UNM Spirit Program is to give students the opportunity to be involved in an athletic activity as a supplement to their academic experiences at UNM. The Program will strive to enrich the lives of the members by helping develop leadership, commitment and responsibility. Members of the Spirit Program will support and positively represent UNM Athletics and the community.
The Program strives to uphold and project the ideals of the University, support Men’s and Women’s NCAA sports and actively participate in their community. As of December 2021, the teams have completed more than 60 appearances in the community since the teams came together this summer.
Please donate to and share this campaign through email and on your social media. Help support the teams behind the Lobo teams and get our Spirit Program on the national map!
Thank you for your support! Go Lobos!
